MINMAX Invited to R&S Seminar on Next-Generation AI Server Architectures and Industrial Power Design Challenges

MINMAX Application Technical Support Deputy Manager Wyne Cheng (Chuan-Hong Cheng) was recently invited to attend the Next-Generation AI Server Architecture and Industrial Power Design & Measurement Challenges Seminar hosted by Rohde & Schwarz Taiwan. At the event, he exchanged the latest technologies and application experience with experts from power electronics, energy systems, power supply design, and EMC fields.

The seminar focused on the power challenges driven by the rapid growth of AI servers and data centers. Topics covered high-voltage DC (HVDC) architectures, power efficiency, PDN design, and power measurement methodologies, attracting many engineers and industry professionals.

Under the topic “Critical Selection Criteria and Application Considerations in Isolated Power Converter Design”, MINMAX’s Wyne Cheng provided an in-depth analysis of key selection points for isolated power converters used in AI, industrial control, and communication applications, including:

  • .How to select appropriate power modules based on key specification parameters
  • .Practical application considerations after choosing isolated power modules

The session started from core specification parameters to help engineers accurately match system requirements, then extended to common technical challenges on the application side. Real-world cases and field experience were shared regarding unexpected conditions in input voltage, output voltage, and output current. In addition, Wyne explained multiple detailed factors that affect derating curve evaluation and the robustness of EMC solutions, providing participants with a more complete and practical design perspective.
