MRZI75 Series Brick DC-DC Converter for Railway Applications

The MINMAX MRZI75 series is a new generation of high-performance brick DC-DC converters, offering 75W output power in a compact quarter-brick package. Engineered specifically for railway applications, this series features an ultra-wide input voltage range of 36–160VDC, making it compatible with a variety of rolling stock power systems.

Available in regulated output voltage options of 5, 12, 15, 24, and 54VDC—including models suitable for PoE applications—the MRZI75 series ensures flexibility and efficiency across multiple subsystems. Thanks to advanced circuit design, it achieves efficiency levels up to 91%, supporting reliable performance even under high baseplate temperatures up to 105°C.

Built for demanding conditions, this brick DC-DC converter includes a reinforced 2000VAC input-output isolation barrier and has successfully passed Temperature Cycle Testing (TCT) with over 1000 cycles, guaranteeing durability over long-term operation. It also features comprehensive protections such as under-voltage lockout, overload, over-voltage, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection.

System designers benefit from enhanced functionality with remote ON/OFF control (positive and negative logic), output voltage trimming, and output sense functions, making integration into complex railway systems more precise and reliable.

Certified to critical railway standards—including EN 50155 for rolling stock electronics, EN 50121-3-2 for EMC compliance, and EN 45545-2 for fire protection—the MRZI75 series meets international safety and environmental expectations. Its rugged design makes it the perfect brick DC-DC converter for applications such as traction control, onboard lighting, communication systems, security equipment, and HVAC modules in railway environments.
